GEMINI MOON

Gemini Moon is an LP of recently recorded material, most of which was recorded in late March to early April. Overall, the tone of the album is fairly consistent with a lot of my other recent albums such as Satanic Dreams of the Pale Star and Jesus Freaks, two albums I have yet to post on this site. So basically, it has a lot of dense drone, atmosphere, and the occasional dance or tribal beat. Enjoy!

NEON ICON?

With the current influx of "Neon"-related monikers among today's musicians (Neon Blonde, Neon Trees, etc.), I've become slightly tiresome with the pseudonym that I created, especially now that Neon Indian has blown up as a pioneer of low-fi chill wave. But I have no real intentions on changing my project's name... I just wanted to express mild frustration.

HILDEGARD VON BINGEN

A track named for and inspired by the vocal style of the liturgical works by the 12th Century German composer (amongst other things, including Christian mystic) Hildegard von Bingen. The song was composed entirely by voice with treated loops, of course, as well as several layers.

CLEANSING (EP)

Cleansing is an EP of all new material recently recorded, most of it sort of ambient, drone and synth-driven. There's a lot of tape manipulation and loops used as well. The last track is a loose cover of the classic 1963 surf instrumental "Wild Weekend" by the Rockin' Rebels.

THE MIRROR OF ORPHEUS (FEATURING SUBJECT)

The first post of 2010 is a brand new collaboration between myself and Subject (Paul Grant) that meanders through ambient valleys and sequels all recorded on glorious cassette tape. The first track is an extended ambient jam, the second a loop collage of sorts, and the last a shorter, tape-manipulated piece.

A SPECTRE OF DESTINY IN THE EYE OF RA

A brand new track that might be part of a new, much more subdued ambient album that I'm working on, which might not work since this track has an ambient intro and outro but the middle section is anything but...instead it turns into tribal drumming and keyboards. Also, other things currently in the works include another new album type thing heavy with samples and loops in the post-ironic, tropical drone vein as well as a split release with Santa Barbara/San Diego/Los Angeles-based band MOTHLIGHT, which should be very exciting!
